Chapter 1: To Understand Black Sheep Social, First Understand Me
I think it’s vital that, in order to understand what Black Sheep truly means, I first tell you a little bit about myself. Growing up, I always felt a bit different, though I didn’t quite understand why. I worked hard to

blend in, adjusting to my surroundings and mirroring the behaviors of those around me. While this “blending in” became second nature, it often left me feeling exhausted and disconnected. It wasn’t until age 28, when I was diagnosed as being autistic, that everything began to make sense. I finally had the answer to the lifelong question of why I found it difficult to fit into environments that felt so natural to others.
Receiving an autism diagnosis was a revelation. Rather than feeling limited or defined by it, I saw it as a key to understanding myself in ways I hadn’t been able to before. The diagnosis wasn’t a label—it was a lens through which I could see my strengths, quirks, and unique perspectives as part of a spectrum that made me, me. Realising this changed everything. I no longer had to live as if I were trying to be someone else. Instead, I could finally begin to discover who I truly was and what I valued. That journey of self-discovery led me to many things, but one of the most significant outcomes was the creation of Black Sheep Social.

Chapter 2: Black Sheep—A Brand for the Unconventional
Through my journey to self-acceptance, I discovered a deep desire to help others see the value in what makes them unique, to celebrate the aspects of themselves that may not fit into a traditional mold. That’s what Black Sheep Social is all about—encouraging businesses and individuals to embrace the things that set them apart and view them as strengths. In a world where it can feel like everyone is trying to do the same thing, I wanted to create a brand that boldly stands for the opposite.
The concept of the “black sheep” resonates with me, not only because it’s often used to describe someone who doesn’t quite fit in but also because it represents individuality and courage. I want Black Sheep Social to empower people and businesses to step out of line, lean into their differences, and understand why those differences are assets. When you’re a black sheep, you’re not just another face in the crowd; you’re someone with a unique story, a fresh perspective, and a voice that deserves to be heard. It’s my mission through Black Sheep Social to help others tell that story and amplify that voice. I believe that by embracing the qualities that make us different, we create something authentic that
resonates deeply with others.
Chapter 3: I Am the Black Sheep
Black Sheep Social isn’t just a brand; it’s a reflection of who I am. I am the black sheep, someone who spent years feeling out of place, only to realize that my differences were the very things that gave me strength. I understand what it’s like to struggle with fitting in, and I know how it feels to finally embrace who you are, unapologetically. I created this business to empower others to do the same, to encourage them to see the value in authenticity and to understand that true success comes from being true to oneself.

I believe every brand, like every person, has unique qualities that set it apart. By working with businesses, I want to help them uncover those qualities and express them confidently. When a business shows up authentically, it attracts people who connect with its message on a genuine level. Black Sheep Social exists to guide brands on that journey, helping them build trust, loyalty, and a lasting impact by staying true to what makes them different.
In the end, being a black sheep isn’t about standing out for the sake of it. It’s about standing out because you’re staying true to who you are and what you believe in. It’s about celebrating those parts of you that don’t fit the mold and finding strength in your own story. I’m proud to be the black sheep, and I’m excited to help others embrace that spirit, too. Through Black Sheep Social, I hope to build a community that values individuality, authenticity, and the courage to be different in a world that often tries to make us the same.
